Default Mother and children socials (creche)?

    As Salamu Alaikum,

Does anybody know of any circles for mothers and children, or any coffee mornings/weekly meetings etc where mothers can take their children and socialise with other mothers? I would really appreciate it if someone could help me.

    JazakAllah Khair

    wassalam

    Assalaam Wailaikum,

Where are you located? Many Masjids are starting to offer these types of activities.

    walaikum as salam,

Around south london, near the Thames area. Even if the circles are in east london or other such places this would still be good InshAllah. Jazakillah Khair

Unfortunately I don't know of any particular sessions in the South London area, however there are many children sessions you can take your child to. Go to your local library and you can find out where your nearest SureStart centre is, some of these are free for children, whilst others may have a small or nominal charge. Your local library may also hold children sessions weekly, a toy library for 0-5 or other group sessions for children.

My local Surestart centre is located next to the masjid and run by Muslimahs and is exclusively for Mothers and children only. Men are not allowed in the premises. They do various sessions and activities for children and weekly coffee mornings with local mothers.

I also have another SureStart centre which is a few more minutes away, which is run by non-Muslims but they also hold weekly coffee mornings which are only for mothers and toddlers.

My local library holds a Toy Library every Tuesday, whereby any children age 0-5 can come and play in a dedicated playroom..with qualified supervision, and can also borrow toys (as you would borrow books) from the library. This is a mixed session however in that anyone can attend...but usually it is mothers who come with the children, sometimes in a blue moon a father may bring his child lol

So yeah, your best bet at the moment would be to approach your library because they should have all these details and addresses there

    Assalamu alaikum

There is a mother and toddler group in Ilford, Essex (N E London) called Madinah Tots that runs sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, mornings only. All mothers and young children are welcome and there is a small fee to pay. It is an excellent opportunity to meet other mothers and for your child to socialise. The session starts with free play and there are healthy snacks midway with everyone sitting in a circle. This is a chance to make duah (before and after we eat) and to go through the arabic alphabet.

Anyone can pm me for details inshaallah.
