The sound of š is apparently the same as "shin" sound in Arabic. Notice the little character above the s. So, both of the above would be correct although using the second one would be better to avoid confusion.

what the difference in words like

    1)
Lā ilāha illā-llāhu waḥdahu lā šarīka lahu lahu-l-mulku wa lahu-l-ḥamdu yuḥyi wa yumītu wa huwa ʿalā kulli šayʾin qadīr

    2)
Lā ilāha illā-llāhu waḥdahu lā sharika lahu lahu-l-mulku wa lahu-l-ḥamdu yuḥyi wa yumītu wa huwa alā kulli shayʾin qadīrun

what about the difference in words like šarīka & sharika
    also šayʾin & shayʾin

and so still the second is correct?

    1. words with dot under characters (ḥ, ṭ, ẓ):
    subḥāna
    ḥamdu
    ḥawla
    waḥdahu

    2. illā is pronounced illa when it is immediately followed (in speech) by a sukūn or geminate letters as words with alif lām of taʿrīf, e.g. illa llāhu; otherwise the long ā remains, e.g. illā bi-llāhi.
    3. qadīrun is pronounced qadīr in the pausal form as here
    4. a hyphen - shows that there is no word space between a particle and what follows it when written in Arabic, e. g. wa-huwa.
