salam `alaykum wa rahmatullah,
I'm not certain if you're referring to the same person, but there is one student there whose name is Salah al-Din. He is a white-afrikaaner convert who is fluent in Afrikaans and English, with good knowledge of Arabic and Urdu. His maternal grandfather is one of the major religous figures of the Protestant Chrisitan community in South Africa. If we're talking about the same person, then it's very easy to get in touch with him, he lives in Azaadville and comes to the Dar ul-`Ulum mosque to pray everyday.
salam `alaykum wa rahmatullah,
slahudin is there as well as another student who is not african he is a belgium revert and he is staying in the madressa for ramadhan his name is khalil jhonson he speaks dutch which is similar to africans and he speaks good english he is going to the fifth year so he might be helpfull as well but to get in contact with either will have to be through the phone unless you live in sa i dont think either of the 2 have access to the internet

Brother abdullahnana, or any body who knows much about Darul Uloom Azaadville
Assalam Walaikum
I知 23 years old and my wife 24. We both have bachelor痴 degree from USA. Now by the mercy of Allah, Allah taala put in our hearts to change our life style and learn about Deen. We both want to go and do aalim/aalima course (I have heard that one of the best place is South Africa). I recently started researching on this.
Obviously I will not be able to work there if I知 studying there full time. Thus, we will not have any financial support.
Can you please tell me if they have any benefit for married couple like me? If I study in Darul Uloom Azaadville and my wife do the same course close by (please tell me the closest school for her, I have listed some school of South Africa below which I found by searching), do we have to live in the marasah or can we get a small place between both the madrasah? Also, how far is both men and women madrasah from each other? How much you think we will need to contribute every month for living there? (not talking about comfort, just necessity is fine too). When do the semester start and as we both know English and urdu(we may not need to take these classes) how many years program will we be enrolling for? How much time do you think husband and wife will be able to spend in a school day? And how much is the home work for every night and the weekend?
I知 sorry I have so many questions, but as you may understand that I知 absolutely beginner and these basic questions are very important for me. Please reply with these answers and any other information you think is important for us to know. Jazak Allah.

Thank you Imaan21. Yes I researched on Madrasah Zakariyya and its good for both me and my wife. But I want to keep my options open thats why I'm trying to find out for other places too. I've heard that the Azaadville Darul Uloom is the best one in Soft Africa. Is it true? Also, which female madrassa is closest to Azaadville?
Also, do you know by chance when their (Azadville and zakariya) semester starts? and if both are 7 years course(including one year optional course). Same question for both male and female madrassa(as in when female semester starts and how many years course)
Also, are you studying somewhere too? Sorry not being personal, but wanted to know who is helping me.
جزاك اللهُ خيراً

Ok no problem, no I didn't study there I stay in Port Elizabeth but most of the students from our boys madrassah go there for the last year cos our Darul uloom only do until fourth year. Not sure which is the best from Azaadville or Zakariyya but these are two of the top madrassah's in SA. I will find out when the semester starts but I know it's sumwhere after Ramadhaan, so very close...

Yeah please let me know because some person from another post told me that Madarssa Inamiyya starts in January, and I heared that Madarsa mostly starts after ramzan.
Which school is in Post Elizabeth which has four years only(as you are saying that students go after four to these institute? I think azaadville and zakariyya are 7 years. It may be better to do 4 years from your place and then go there for last year (saves couple of years). What do you think? I'm already 23, and if I start next year(24) then I rather go for the least years.
Also, let me know if you know how many years program is in both azaad ville, zakariya and post elizabeth (least years I can attend). Also, if you know how many years and when does azaad ville(female) and zakariya(female) starts. Any information if you know will be really helpful![]()
