And you're north american? your background as well or are you originally from another country? Are there many students from western countries there? Also, how are you using the internet?

brother siraj.m i read in one of your previous posts about a laptop if you will be staying in the boarding it is strongly advisable that you do not bring it with you. i have a ipod touch and last year they allowed them but a laptop is out of the question they will confiscate it and only give it back to you at the end of the year. the reason for the strictness against laptops and cell phones is that alot of students misused these things and caused it for the rest of us. and you have studied in syria? could i ask you what you have studied you have a great advantage if you have studied a bit of arabic elsewhere before you come to azaadville i myself studied arabic part time for a year before i went and it helped me alot

I'm from Australia but my background is Lebanese. I was in Syria for 2 weeks only so I didn't get to do much. I went to Lebanon afterwards and only got through the very basics of Tajweed and reading etc. But the fact that I'm Lebanese might make it a lot easier for me to pick up the Arabic inshaAllah.
I definitely won't bring the laptop. I just want to use the internet once every few months or so to speak to my family.
I just searched what Guji is, Oromo right? May I ask you a few questions? How old are you? What year are you in in your studies? Did you start from the pre year? Do they have a gym there at all? And also, are there any Aussies there or Arabs??

    Thanks
    Was-salaam

inshallah the arabic will be easy. im 22 years old and im going into my fourth year inshallah
i skipped the pre year because i allready knew some urdu and there is a gym outside the madressa where you can get a membership but i think they got some machines in the madressa that they want to set up. alot of students just buy weights and keep it in the rooms. me and a few guys from my room bought a bench and weights. there are a few arabs from jordan but i dont think there are any aussies.
