Cool Religious Blurs of Hinduism and Islam

    Assalamu Alaykum sisters and brothers,

I was just reading a article here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7473019.stm
Hindus and Muslims or really more like just following some common practices of Muslims, and it was really interesting i was just wondering if anyone from India can have experienced this or has heard of in more in depth?

yes there are many places in india like that, they didnt know what religion they follow, sadly some muslims even pray in temples and their houses are filled with pictures of hindu gods.

once people from our masjid went to one village. some people came to masjid for friday next day they were walking outside masjid and they happen to pass by a temple near by and they saw some of same people praying in hindu fashion there, when asked they said we do both things

well the interesting thing about ur link is, where the writer is mentioning as mehrat
Legend has it that the Mehrat, Kathat and Cheeta communities - with a combined total of one million people in four districts of central Rajasthan - are the descendants of the Hindu ruler of the warrior caste, Prithviraj Chauhan.
which covers some districts of rajasthan is actually called as mewath

these are the same people who were cause for the formation of tabligh jamath which the writer referred as tabliki jamaat
He also justifies the campaign by Muslim groups like Tabliki Jamaat to "educate" Mehrats about Islam.
(well the mewatis call it as tabliki jamath since they cant pronounce language bcoz of illeteracy )

and once they were taught of islam many of them left their homes to spread islam and believe me its mewatis who took the effort of tabligh around the world and i have listened from elders of tabligh jamath, these people used to go to other countries though they cant speak language

alhamdulilla most part of that area is converted to islam but still there are some and yes i have heard their weird names in tabligh markaz : )

and did u see the turban on their head, that is sunnah for them they tie it same way

and now some of them have grown to such a level that they can even speak arabic
