Cool MISSISSAUGA: Muslimfest taking place at Living Arts Centre

    Assalamu Alaikum all,

This is an awesome event taking place at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, ON, on August 7th, 2004.
There will be interactive classes, exhibits on Islamic Art, free counselling in media arts, an awesome concert featuring the likes of Zain Bhikha, Dawud Wharnsby Ali and other awesome Nasheeders [Personal Note: A friend and I actually made this term up], even a live puppet show for the kids. Tickets are available online or from the Soundvision Store in Mississauga.
Its an awesome, all day event for both Muslims and non-Muslims alike. There will be a lot of features that are not only educational but also a cool way to spend the weekend.
    For more information Visit: MuslimFest
This event is open to both Muslims and Non Muslims so please do inform your non muslim colleagues as well. This event hopes to, Insha'Allah, build bridges between Muslims and Non Muslims, by educating them of the true nature of Islam which is void from the controlled media.
Jazakallah Khair for taking time to read this

    Default Who else went?

    Salam hyperMM...

I went to this...actually, I was an usher!

This was suchhhhhh a good event, mashaAllah... I was so impressed at how well everything was organized! Despite media backlash (article in the Star) and Sami Yusuf cancelling they pulled off something reallly really amazing!

The art exhibits were something else and hey , inshaAllah, next year i might have a table of some of my own art work!

May Allah bless everyone that was in attendance...ameen.

The event was wonderful. It was good to see all the beautiful muslims out in full force.
