    Yeah MuslimFest was hype!!! I was an usher as well and we had V.I.P. access to Dawud, Zain and Irfan! Sami Yusuf's no show was a major disappointment but I think the extra nasheeds made up for that...it was nice to see bro Dawud 'let loose' a little and the non-Muslim percussionists put a on a good show too...but the guy in 'the pit' was interesting. And who's Geewan?

    why didnt sami yusuf show? im glad it was a good event, too bad i missed it..
    had to choose whether to go to a friend's wedding or stay on an extra 3 weeks with my parents and attend this, and well ended up going to the friend as i missed her other parties....didnt want to miss this 1...

    one of my friends was the main organisers and she told me he was confirmed, but then just cancelled last minute a day before.

    zain bhika was da booooooooooooooomb and the bazaar was hype. and the art exhibit was off da hook!!! especially that wooden arch with ayat ul qursi carved on it. it was beauuuuuuuuutiful

    everyone,

    Yes the head of SV gave the volunteers a pep talk before we started our shifts. Very nice man, He told us that Muslims often forget to smile and our main job that day was to keep smilin' (really cheese grin)

    I still don't know why Sami Yusuf cancelled though.

    As for the articles...there were several that were for and against the event. I'll try to post some links later
