Default If I am a Hanafi does that mean I have to...

Follow a Sufi Tariqah?? Like Naqshabandi or qadiri or chisti etc??
Because only recently have I decided to follow a madhab after having come to this site, and now this whole order of sufi's thing is kinda freaking me out

Like a I heard a story from a naqshabandi dude that in the cave with RasoolAllah (saw) and Abu Bakr (ra) all the naqshabandi sufi's were present as well, and I don't know but that seems slightly far fetched to me...

I am happy with the Hanafi madhab, and am currently reading a book on how to pray by Shaikh Riyadh-ul-haq.. its just the sufi tariqa thing that I'm not sure about...

No, you don't have to join a tariqah or have anything to do with them if you don't want to, tasawwuf is separate to fiqh

It is not that I deny tassawuf or anything.. its that I see it as something as a personal thing, like a relationship between oneself and his Lord (Allah The Most High).. Rather than it being a kind of tariqa that one has to follow, well I'm happy thats cleared up.. Jazaak'Allah!

Remember brother, Bay'at is sunnah, but tazkiyyat al-nafs (spiritual reformation and reaching the goal) is wajib on every individual.

Also bear in mind that having a guide who has treaded the PATH can make the journey an easy one. Make du'a, Allah grants me the realisation of this as well.

    salam,

you don't have to be a sufi if you are a hanafi but i have personally benefited tremendously from my shaykh and i am only a beginner. so it's something you should keep in mind.

No you don't have to be any sufi tareqas. Their where many past scholars who did not belong to any taqeeqas or/and had nothing got to do with them.

This can also be said you can be a Hanafite without being a Maturidi in theology or a Shafite without being an Ashari.

Yes the bayat is sunnah but not for sufiesm, madhabs, jihadis, Tableegies, its for the complete ISLAM. Do find a tanzeem who really want to Implement Complete ISLAM and bayat to them!
