Exclamation guide to 15th shabaan for new muslims

    Aslaamu alaikum,

As a revert to Islam I am hoping that some one from the forum can give a detailed guide to what is expected from me in terms of prayer during the night of the 15th, this will be the 1st time that I will have this experience and I don't want it to pass as just another night, especially knowing how important it is to us muslims. What I am hoping for is detailed prayers and how they should be performed and what I should be reciting according to the hanafi way (I don't know if there is any difference!)

I look forward to reading any reply and gaining more knowledge.

one thing u should remeber is night starts right after magrib, and ur reward for prayer starts right after magrib itself, many people waste their time upto 11 pm or 12 am and then they start praying and in no time feel sleepy

so its best to start ur prayers right after isha at 8 or 9 pm

u can do some of these things

after isha since u wont be much tired u can read khaza namaz(that prayer which u left after it becoming obligatory on you)

then you can read salah tasbih

then you can recite Quran or do zikr etc and still if u can again u can read khaza salah

he means kadha prayer, which means the prayer which u missed is past as a muslim. if you didn´t missed any prayer after being convert then alhamdulillah. otherwise you can pray those prayers which you missed in past.

Here is an awesome book by a contemporary Hadith scholar about the 15th of Shaban.

In regards to evidence for the 15th of Shaban

    http://qa.sunnipath.com/issue_view.a...ID=140&CATE=24

It is reported from Sayyiduna `Ali (Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: "Let all of you spend the night of mid-Sha`ban in worship (i.e. partly) and its day in fasting. Allah descends to the nearest heaven during this night, beginning with sunset, and says: Is there no one asking forgiveness that I may forgive them? Is there no one asking sustenance that I may grant them sustenance? Is there no one under trial that I may relieve them? Is there not such-and-such, is there not such-and-such, and so forth until until dawn rises. [Narrated by Ibn Majah with a weak chain.]

There are many other narrations from the Companions and early Muslims confirming this matter, as mentioned by Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali in his Lataif al-Ma`arif, and others.

There is general consensus that weak hadiths may be acted upon for virtuous acts, such as voluntary fasting and prayer, as long as the hadith is not excessively weak, returns to a general basis in the Shariah, and one is not convinced that the Prophet (Allah bless him & give him peace) specifically prescribed it.
