I just found this, it's pretty good Mashallah. It's called Ya Rab Ya Rahman.

al-Husayn has released two versions of that particular nasheed, one with instruments and one "without". The version playing currently on sparklywater is the one "without" instruments. However, ironically, in actual fact it does have instruments, though to a lesser degree than the "with instruments" version. As such, both versions should be avoided.Originally Posted by Sheema

Do you know what instruments the one which is meant to be without instruments has? Because our Ramadhan Radio played that particular nasheed, and it only plays nasheeds which the Ulama have approved and which do not contain any instruments besides the duff...Originally Posted by Saleel

Well, I have no knowledge of musical instruments so I can't really say which instruments it has. Though if you listen closely, especially at 2mins 17seconds, it's quite clear it has music.Originally Posted by Live for Islam

There seems to be a new rendition of Qasida Burdah out now... similar to the one by al-Husayn, but this one only contains the duff, and it has Sami Yusuf influence. Hmm. I'm still not convinced that it's permissible, though.
On any account, if it stops people listening to the musical one by al-Husayn, that's a "good" first-step I guess.
It's playing currently on sparklywater.co.uk.
