Edit: It starts in Arabic, but after approx. 35 seconds, it begins in another language. It sounds like Zulu, but I've got no idea.

it sounds like the language used in that other nasheed, the one with zain bhika, yusuf islam (i think) and a childrens choir from africa "la ilaha illalla/i am a muslim"...and i think that is in 'zulu'...seeing as zain is from south africa himself and i heard his son sings the 'zulu' bit.

either way, both nasheeds sound great. the 'zulu' language sounds sweet....very different to english.

    *ahem*, for the hint.
    who was that to?

does anyone know about urdu/panjabi nasheeds?

i have two amazing ones in my car at the moment on tape-off from a distant brother....i dont know the titles (just the recurring words i assume are the chorus) and i dont know the performer....but his voice is mashallah very strong and powerful and they are in panjabi...and i think they are part of a khatme nabuwwat or sipah-e-sahabah jalsa or something bcos there are sporadic elans/naaray during the performances

    "sahabah meray peeran"

    and

    "aanadeyo aanado"

can anyone help me out with name of performer/background/weblinks etc. ?
id like to download nasheeds of this type from the net as i only have a rough tape version at the mo.

    jazakumullah khayran

    Wallahu Alam.

So that's where I got the nasheed from, .

Yes, someone had mentioned the nasheed by Zain Bhikha, but I have never heard it so I don't know. He speaks Afrikaans as well (I think), which is what most people in SA speak, but I don't think it's Afrikaans.

    who was that to?
The sister who posted (and then deleted her post) right after me and said it must have been a type of African dialect.

    for everyone's help.

no, i dont think its Afrikaans either....bcos Afrikaans is a 'dialect' of Dutch and that singing does not sound dutch in any form.

its definitely a language native to southern africa IMO.

btw, can anyone help me with my urdu/panjabi nasheed request?
    (my last post)

and am i right in saying that 'naat' can only be about Rasulullah (peace be upon him) whilst 'nazam' is a translation of the word 'nasheed' ?

I have a tape of a program done by Madressa Nur in our local Masjid.Subhanallah my grandfather told me that evryone in the Masjid had tears in their eyes when they left the program Subhanallah!
The original song performed there was sung in Thai,Southo and Swazi.(Hafidh Muhammad Islaah-the main singer-is originally from Thailand Masha Allah)This version does not include the Thai so i guess it's just Southo and Swazi. The brother's right,Afrikaans is something like dutch, brought here by the dutch settlers way back. The nazm is about Nabi(SAWS),his birth and how he changed the world.(this I know from the tape,I wish I knew Southo ar Swazi!)

Subhanallah recently at Madrassa Nur was the Jalsa of the First Blind Aalim and Aalima! MAshallah Both are Huffadh.Totally inspiring!! May Allah grant us the quality of Shukr and use us for his deen.Ameen
