I was determined to build this huge collection of nasheeds and in the process actually bought a CD (Al Mu'allamim - spur of the moment thing) but most of the files I download off the net.
And then someone pointed out that it's illegal, because many of these nasheed artists earn their living through these CDs (to some extent, anyway). Now, I'm a shameless pirateer (sp?) when it comes to downloading stuff off the net, but because these are nasheed artists after all, I felt bad because I truly believe I'm stealing from them.
    Hence, no more freebies.
Hence, for the next long while I'm going to have be content with Sami Yusuf.

True, we shouldn't be download nasheeds off the net, but there are so many nasheeds for which the artist is unknown (online), or they don't have albums out....where are we supposed to get them from, alternative..download them?

I've uploaded the Madrassah Noor for the Blind Charity CD. Feel a bit bad since the CD is for charity, but the quality isn't great, and you can't download it. And, please donate to them and buy the CD if you like it .

    My favourite tracks are 2, 5, 6 and 9.

    Hadith Qudsi 27:

On the authority of Masruq, who said:

We asked Abdullah (i.e. Ibn Mas'ud) about this verse: And do not regard those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead, rather are they alive with their Lord, being provided for Qur'an Chapter 3 Verse 169). He said: We asked about that and the Prophet (pbuh) said: Their souls are in the insides of green birds having lanterns suspended from the Throne, roaming freely in Paradise where they please, then taking shelter in those lanterns. So their Lord cast a glance at them (1) and said: Do you wish for anything? They said: What shall we wish for when we roam freely in Paradise where we please? And thus did He do to them three times. When they saw that they would not be spared from being asked [again], they said: O Lord, we would like for You to put back our souls into our bodies so that we might fight for Your sake once again. And when He saw that they were not in need of anything they were let be.

    (1) i.e. at those who had been killed in the cause of Allah.

It was related by Muslim (also by at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah).

You probably heard it on a tape called: In The Hearts of The Green Birds a nasheed and story compilation in memory of the martyrs of Bosnia.

That signature is a Quote from a Arab poet, who Shaykh Abd al-Fattah Abu Guddah (rahi'mahullah) quotes in one of his books from Shaykh Abu al-Hasanat Muhammad Abd al-Hai Lucknawi al-Ansari al-Hanafi, who says:

"Since my childhood I have been absorbed in the biographical works of the narrators and a study into the lives of the people of virtue and honour. As a result of which, I hope that I will be bestowed with a portion of their sublime character, including the ability to resemble them in their unique attributes. May my affection and desire to emulate them afford me the opportunity to find the path of righteousness and piety".

    I share his values
