The issue of halal meat slaughter is a big one and there is only one regulatory body in the UK possibly the world that GUARANTEES it's approved meat is halal. This is HMC. We as responsible muslims want to raise the awareness of this so that inshallah EVERY single butcher and abertoire in the UK and the world that claims to be halal either carries the HMC logo or is guaranteed halal as observed according to the Shariah.

Don't take the word of a butcher as you'll find 98% of them don't even know what is the halal method of slaughtering meat. Don't believe me? Ask your butcher next time you go in and see his response!

HMC does not say you have to buy it's approved meat but just to be absolutely sure that the meat you get is in compliance with Shariah. Just because you have used the same butcher for years doesn't always mean they are halal. This is sad, but it's true.

They are a NON-PROFIT organisation and their accounts are easily obtained for viewing in case anyone has been mislead to think they are a money making organisation by individuals who are either sadly ignorant or have a vested interest in promoting dubious meat.

They have Ulema and scholars on their board so will answer any questions according to the Quraan and Sunnah.

Get the word out to all muslims. This is a matter of our deen brothers and sisters. If we don't care what goes into our tummies, then what hope is there for this Ummah?

Halal meat will only be GUARANTEED halal when we as muslims start demanding it and that requires a collective effort.

I've been a supporter of HMC for some time now, but only recently have decided to be more active. An incident with a local butcher has urged me to act now. I'm not saying I'm going to make a difference, but I want to do my bit as ALL muslims should.

The butcher in question was buying SOME chickens as HMC marked, but the rest was bringing in at night on the cheap from a non muslim abertoire. When presented with the evidence and caught in the act, he arrogantly ripped up the HMC certificate and even slapped the maulana who was there.

This is our state brothers and sisters.

That is outrageous. I hope he is being taken to court for 1) assault, and 2) misrepresenting his products.

Alhamdulillah, some of my local butchers have gone HMC now, and a few chip shops : )

Having Tableeghi Brothers active in your area is a blessing! Subhan-Allah! Without them it wouldn't have happened.

Moving on, HMC group needs to be supported, so get your boots on and start campaigning!

which just goes to show that a HMC certificate does not guarantee HMC certified meat.

a butchers in bradford had the HMC logo plastered all over its window. health and safety inspectors found in that same shop the carcass of sheep which did not have the health and safety stamp ( all carcass are checked and stamped by local health and safety office). this shows that the sheep were not checked by anyone but was being sold in a HMC certified shop.

On the authority of Abu Huraira (R.A) who said, The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said,

"Allah, the Almighty is pure and accepts only that which is pure. Allah has commanded the faithful to do that which he commanded the messengers, and the Almighty has said, 'O Messengers! Allah (SWT) Knows Best.Almighty Allah (SWT) says, "O people of Imaan! Eat of the pure things (Halaal) that We have provided for you, and be grateful to Allah" (Surah Baqarah 2:172)

Our Beloved Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) has said, "There will come a time upon my Ummat when people will not be concerned over what they take. It will not matter for them whether it is Haraam or Halaal" (Bukhari: Nasai).

It is further reported that, "When this time comes, then none of their Duas will be accepted" (Razeen).

It is narrated in another Hadith, "It is better for you to consume sand rather than eating anything Haraam" (Ahmed).

It is narrated in another Hadith, "That flesh which has grown out of Haraam food will not enter Jannah. Hell has more right to it" (Ahmad: Tirmidhi).

Haraam food has a detrimental effect on one's spiritual development. It has a direct effect on one's actions. One who consumes Haraam will not feel any enthusiasm to perform good deeds and it will lead him/her towards sinful deeds. Haraam also acts as a barrier such that duaas are not accpeted.

Anyway I fully support the endevour of the HMC and may Allah(swt) reward them for the effort.
