6 million muslims leave Islam every year???

Can anyone tell me whether there is any truth to the christian claim that 6 million muslims leave islam and convert to christianity every year. I personally think that it's not true because the number seems ridiculously high, and if it were true why are the African muslims so quiet about it. I know that christians hate hearing "Islam is the fastest growing religion in the west and in the world", so my suspicions are that they have made these claims up in order to counter the muslim claim and make christians feel better about their dying religion.. The muslim claim that islam is the fastest growing religion in the world is backed by non-muslims. But of course, there is a chance the christian claim (6 million muslims converting to christianity per year) might be true, so can any brother or sister enlighten me as to what the truth is.

Funniest thing I've heard today! Yes, there are ex-muslims who apostate to Christianity and other religions, but 6 million??? They wish!

They say that all these conversions are happening in Africa, which makes you think, where are all the african muslims?. If this was true i'm sure the african brothers and sisters would not be so quiet about it. Also, the christians are compulsive and shameless liars, especially when talking about Islam or conversions from Islam to Kufranity, i mean christianity, whoops

there are many places in africa where people(mainly tribal) are converted to christianity and they safe guard them. many jamats have reported this and even jamats were successful in bringing them back to islam but that number is very few compared to christians

Recently the catholic church did a census of religions around the world and they discovered, as one arch bishop put ot "Islam has surpassed us (christians) in numbers"

Brothers and Sisters there is some fact to this.I not sure about the enormous number.I remember reading in an 1994 article in the Muslim journal about Chistian missionaries going to deeply oppressed countries in Africa posing as helpers or aids,while the people are starving and unable to grow crops on their land and without a clean water supply teach them to sing songs and look for god in the sky while others profit by rape Mother Africa of its natural resources.I cant tell you exactly what issue but it was about Africa being so rich in natural resources and still called a 3rd world country.

These statements are false, the christian radicals have a habit of such statements. In Africa there are countries which have a majority of muslims yet they are still termed as christian nations.

To an extent this is true...
and it is only because of WE all muslims, and we all are individually and collectively responsible for this.

what i beleive is, every person has right to practice his/ her religion and attract others, but it is our duty to give the true picture of Islam not just through our blogs/ posts but through our behavior and character.

I remember watching one of those crazy born-again Christian Ministries on TV. The where claiming that people where healed after accepting Jesus (alayhis salam) as their "Savior". This "Crusade" took place in Africa. They brought this old African women on stage -who happened to be wearing proper hijab- and they asked her if she was healed, her answer was AL HAMDULILAH.

That fact is many people do leave Islam. But, this doesn't meaning that they are making a well thought out choice. Many of these people are poor and starving, and they are attracted to these missionaries, that bring with them food, clothes and other "luxuries".

We as Muslims are to blame generally. Specifically, however, I would tend to blame the oil rich gulf states for not doing more help these brothers and sisters that are struggling. They could make a really effort to combat the Missionaries, buy building schools,i nvesting in agriculture and manufacturing.

Efforts like Tabligh are also important in these place. People in these place need to be exposed to practicing Muslims and Islam.
