What is Char Yaar ???

Asalam O Alikum,

While reading a thread few days ago I had seen something written like Haq Char Yaar or whatever.. Can someone tell me what is that.. Jazak Allah Karim

There are many different meanings of Chaar Yaar -


1. Hazraat Salman , AbuZar , Ammar and Bilal (ra)

2. The 4 Sunni Imams (ra).

3. Hazraat Abu Bakr , Umar , Usman and Ali (ra) , i.e the 4 pious Caliphs.

4. Hazraat Muhammad-e-Mustafa(saw) , Hazraat Ali, Hassan and Hussain.

5. Hazraat Maulana Gangohi , Nanotwi , Madani and Thanvi. ( the Akabir-e-Deoband)


So , you see , there are 5 different meanings of "Chaar Yaar". It depends on whom you choose. I choose all of them. All of them were pious Muslims.

Then why not we go for easy... If it is not apart of Quran means does not has one meaning or as per your post if it has 5 meanings then.. This means nothing mentioned about this in Quran... & It is dropped by Muslims later on... So why they says or write logically things...

However respect is never with written statements it is always in heart & mind... So I do belive that every single Muslim... Should Love all of them as well as... Allah , Angels, Prophets.. Jazak Allah Kahir

Chaar means Four in Urdu & Punjabi Counting...
Yaar means Friend or Fellow in Urdu & Punjabi Counting...

So this is the product of Sub continental & they derived this for their meanings...

yes the origin is of indo sub continent.. the full phrase is "haq char yar" which i think in its inception was rivaling the shia counter part "panj tan" refering to ahlul bait.

Sister, You must have to read Indian Muslim post little bit up there.. He explained about 5 meanings...

However I do know they use this what u written which is also mentioned by younger Brother Indian Muslim....

But Its made here in Sub Continent as I told earlier... Instead or saying Char Yaar we can better say... "Khulaf-e-Rashdeen".... Jazak Allah
