Description of Hadhrat Shaikh Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya Kandhlawi (RA)

Does anyone have a description of the physical appearance of Hadhrat Shaikh Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya Kandhlawi (RA), including the clothing he wore?

yes i have picture of Hadhrat and he is wearing a white imama - not completely white, it had a slight coloured pattern to it, white thobe and long thin imam type brown ovecoat on top which had a light gold or yellow colour on the sims.

He was in old age in the picture and looks extremely kind, you can see it in his eyes. He was large is stature, rather stocky. His beard was long (over a fist) and although not completely white he had a wide white strip in the centre and greying towards the sides.

He face was wide and round and had wrinkles. He was light skinned in this image, not dark but rather light brown.

His eyes tell a thousand stories about himself. they are amazing. you can see much kindness and also determination in them. you can see wisdom in his face.

The image is a passport picture and it is my most treasured possession. i love it

Assalamu Alaikum. Is it possible for you to scan Hadhrat Shaikh's passport picture and send it to me or post it on the Internet? I would highly appreciate it if you could do either of those things. However, if you have another idea, please notify me. Jazakallahu Khairan.

Would this not be disrespectful to the shaykh (rahimahullah), especially as he has passed away, not to mention impermissible according to shari'ah to keep a photograph (at least a printed one)?

Assalamu Alaikum. I understand your opinion and I admire your stance in this matter. However, I do not intend to do anything with the photograph. I would just like to see it as two of my grandmother's brothers were students of Hadhrat Shaikh himself.

I remember Hazrat Maulana Ilyas's (ra) passport pic was posted too but it looked too recent for my liking. However, whoever it was, if it indeed was Maulana Ilyas (ra) the noor on his face was amazing.

Makes you wonder when you see these great people, what the sahaba must have looked like, and then what the Prophets of Allah would have looked like and last but not least what the greatest human being that's ever walked this earth, Janabay Paak Muhammad Mustafa SAW would have looked like.

It's very emotional.
