What happened...?

I know this isn't a comment or suggestion, but I'll say it anyway. Please pardon me for stepping a little outside of topc.

I just typed a long post and when I clicked to submit it I was prompted to log in again and then my post disappeared. I tried pressing "back" on IE and when I returned to the page where I typed it, everything I typed was gone. Alhamdulillah, it was clearly not the will of Allah subhaanahu wa ta 'aala that it be posted... My question is why did that happen? And what can I do to prevent that from happening again?

I can't be certain, but some ISPs give users multiple IP addresses, so everytime they click a link, the internet thinks it's a new person rather than the one who's already logged on. Sort of confuses the forum software. The only solutions I can think of are either 1. use a different ISP, or 2. use a proxy server.

To get round it, once you type out a message, copy the message to your clipboard (select text, copy). That way, if you do lose your message, then you can just paste it back.

that happens to me at times and sometimes i get frustrated especially if i worked real hard on what i was going to say and it was really good, like a good message in it. But, usually what i like to do or what I would recommend you to do since this happens to you a lot is just to type whatever you're gonna type then copy it to a notepad and paste it there, then later on try pasting it here either it goes or it doesnt but you still have that option saved in your copy one and then just login or relogin and paste it in.
