    Dawood_beale,

I understand that you are new to Islam and that you are very zealous. But I can sense alot of negative energy. Let us try to change that into positive energy. Yes, once it hits you how messed up the world is, it takes alot not to go bezerk. We are all enraged and deeply troubled over what is going on in the world, .

Sayyiduna Rasulullah was sent as a mecy to the worlds, the entire universe, and was the most compassionate of people to ever walk the earth. Let us try to eminate that. Now this is a Sunnah which takes more effort than most other Sunnan.

When a disbeliever passes away, instead of being joyful we should be devastated that we as Muslims have failed to deliver the message properly. So how do we learn to deliver the message properly? Firstly, to succeed we should try to walk in the footsteps of the beloved and be compassionate towards our fellow human beings. Because often when we do dawah, what we do is to tell them how horrible they are leading their lives, and how horrible situation they are in. While this is true, let's not forget that the Prophet, , said that should give glad tidings rather than scare the people away. So when let out negative energy instead of positive, this is what happens.

I also understand that you are zealous when it comes to your understanding and interpretation of Islam. I'm not saying that we should not use our intellect, because both of us are striving Muslims , mainly due Allah enabling us to use our intellect to understand that Islam is the truth. But sometimes we have to acknowledge that the Islamic knowledge we have aquired is very limited and that there are scholars who have dedicated their lives to studying the religion. Therefore it's also only normal that they reach other conclusions than we do, and if the deen was so simple, then there would be no reason for people do do so. Now I don't know what kind of "Sufis" that you have met, but the majority of great scholars of Islam have been so-called Sufis. And if you stick around I am sure that you may benefit alot from this site.

Patience is a virtue, and verily Allah is with the sabirun.

    wassalam

Akhi the dawah effects individuelly and also in group level. there are a lot of people through their individuell dawah 1000 of non-muslim become muslim. and ummah become strong when i am starting with myself to change my ownself. and people are becoming muslim without having muslims like the time of right guided khalifah(rd) alhamdulillah.

    Asalamalikum

I am sorry that you are feeling such anguish in deciphering what your true path holds in the face of adversities such as Gaza and Afghanistan
and the suffering and plight of our fellow brothers and sisters. Sometimes we look to hard and read between the lines when there is nothing of true essence there, all that you need is in the Quran and the true understanding of its meaning.

I'm sure this is not an isolated issue and one which challenges many muslims when they are faced with media reports and vicious wars on Islam. Congratulations to you for coming back to your deen but see this as your test, as we are all tested at some point or another, the Shaytan is always happier to sow seeds of wrong doing and uncertainty. I would suggest that you use your energy and thoughts in a positive manner and surround yourself with good muslims and maybe learned scholar/s who can help you through this difficult time. May Allah bless you in your efforts and i will make dua for you.

    Jazakallah

assalamu alaykum wa rahmah tullahi wa barakatuhu

Jazak Allahu Khair everyone who took the time to read my post and reply to it I read all of your posts with great interest.

Sorry I was not in a good place yesterday and ironically I had completely neglected my salah all day I am ashamed to say but I got home and prayed isha and witr and asked Allah t'ala to help me because I had reached a low point and I slept well and feel better today Alhamdulillah.

It is still an issue for me though. I have made certain conclusions though:

1: I should avoid watching the news and stay away from politics until I am older because even though there are many crucial issues for me, all I can do is make dua and give zakat and saddaqua and I dont need to watch BBC news to know there are muslims taht are suffering everywhere in the world and that I can make dua for Allah t'ala as I always do (I usually ask him to make the ummah strong, accept the martyrdom of our fallen brothers and sisters, give Victory to Islam and ease the suffering of thsoe who got caught in the cross fire but I dont know an arabic dua of similar concent from qur'an or sunnah that I can use to better effect so that I dont need to watch news to make dua for them). Everytime I hear of a plane crash i am thinking "I hope it was kuffur and hope they all died so that there are less kuffur in teh world to better the position of muslims" and I know this isn't good hence why I haveposted here because maybe I need to change what is in my heart. I feel great sadness and compassion when it is a mu'min and great joy when it is a kuffur, I always make dawah on teh kuffur but I still want victory for the ummah and see this as more important than individuals so although it is bad for the individual that they never came to islam,. it is good for the ummah that there is one less potential threat to the ummah. For instance if a Jew dies, he could have got on a plane and emmigrated to israel, and then done his 2 years MANDATORY service in the army and killed a brother. Im sure there are others who feel like me though, aren't there any on here sop I can get a balance as everyone seems very peaceful mashAllah which is very nice but not goign to stop the kuffur from oppressing us unfortunately.

2:I am also going attend a masjid and ask an iman for council with regards to my problem as I need guidance inshallah.

    3. I am going to stop trying to giude people unless I think I will have apositive impact on them and I will only hang around people I know are good for me. I known this one lad who reverted to islam mashAllah but then left so I believe I can bring him cback inshAllah but the sufi's who worship their saint I will avoid because I know they will not listen to me. I will also avoid teh kuffur and inshallah I will try to live in a muslim neighbourhood if Allah t'ala makes this possible for me.

I aggree that this is a test for me so inshallah may ALlah t'ala guide me and help me and give me strength to become the best mu'min I can be and to do what is right.

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmah tullahi wa barakatuhu

Yes, I think age can be an important issue when faced with such challenges.

you are referring to " al wala wa'l bara". linguistically in arabic this means "alliance" and "severance". I.e we're to ally ourselves with what Allah loves and Sever ourselves from that which he hates. People often refer to this as simple "loving what Allah loves and hating what Allah hates".

al wala wa'l bara is a part of Islamic belief..

Assalam alaikum brother, i think Islam is very clear on this, Islam does allow extreamism. Infact i for one wouldn't want to celebrate when none Muslims are killed, its for them Allah gave us Islam. He says we are the best of Humanity, we enjoin the good and prohibit the bad, so who shall tell to do the right if they are dead.

Please do not take to religious extreamism, our prophet is the role Model, but we do not see him practice extreamism at all. So stay away from Islam that would push you to kill innocent christians, jews or Pagans, we are supposed to call them but not attack them. Thanjs
