    Default Prophet Muhammad pbuh

    Assalamualykum, Brothers and Sister

I wanted to know, why people celebrate Muhammad pbuh birthday, this was not practiced during his life time as far as I now, and nor did He pbuh say that we should do this after He pbuh goes, so why o why is this happening everywhere??

Also is this not getting contradicted when Muhammad pbuh was born same day He passed away? similar to this, forgive me Allah for my lack of Knowledge, This is a sad time when we see this day draw near, and remember him more with our increased Ibaadah. So Allah will count us among his favored. Inshaallah

I ask as I am seeing more of this and worry the Ummah is drifting far from the Haq, may Allah guide us all on the Siratul Mustakeem, and save us from Jahiliyah. Ameen

don't worry too much, just keep "siking" ilm.
the more you know, the more you will realise how ignorant you are.

the sirat mustaqim is a very very wide sirat - it has 4 lanes - hanafi, shafi'i, maliki and hanbali. and each lane is so wide, it can accommodate different types of vehicles.

all go in 1 direction - to Allah.

celebrating the birth of the best of creation and the greatest blessing to humanity (sallAllah 'alayhi wasallam) is heading in that direction - it is actually a new vehicle which didn't exist as it does, but all 4 lanes have accommodated it, despite the fact a few other vehicles in these lanes get annoyed with it.

the shias have a sayin 'every day is ashura and every land is karbala' as real muslims every day should be milaad. everyday we shud contemplate of the exalted status and rank of rasoolullah (saw) and emulate his blessed sunnah. today if you observe this milaad and the people who participate if u was to see tham on the streets by allah you will not know if they are hindus sikhs or muslims. they have no sunnah in their lifes at all. but come 12th rabi al awaal they make the likes of hazrat junaid (ra) hazrat bustami (ra) look like you average muslim. also the cuttin of birthday cakes i have witnessed myself by those who do milaad. what might of started out as a good and sincere celebration had been polluted and hijacked by the bidaties who have mixed unislamic customs with it

I agree with bro bugmenot, nowadays the conclusions are coming that it is a Bid'ah. This is because there are many invoated and wierd actions that happens during Mawlid. Examples are, giving cake, fireworks, going to meet friends and have a party, and e.t.c... I know from prehand that Bangladesh previously used to celebrate it, but now the Ulema of Bangladesh have declered it to be a Bid'ah. Simmilary the Deobands aswell. My advice is to ask your local 'Alim, he should know a lot more than us, as we laymens have no quallity to call something a Bid'ah without pure 'Ilm. Yup, without a doubt we should do 'Mawlid'- rememberance of our beloved Prophet (SAW) everyday. This is what Shaykh Ninowy has said, I believe. Allahu Alam, and to Allah do we always seek gudiance.

I celebrate it by Doing Ibaadah It ain't some Holy Eid but we remember him by remembering his teachings and the things he Advised us to do Before his death.
Now from another point of view and taking into consideration the state of the ummah today, if they celebrate it By eating cake and Playing fireWorks It's still better than celbrating Valentine or Easter...

you are saying valentines day or easter day isn´t good cause its kuffars way , and how come cutting cake or fireworker better than valentine and easter though its also kuffar method!

valentines day is clear falsehood, but prophet(sw) birthday is getting mixed with falsehood(cutting cake or firework)

I'm against celebrating it and Making it Part of the religion to celebrate it, as for the fireworks part I just made it up I have no idea if They do it or Not HONESTLY i've seen no one celebrate his birthday or have a party or anything, I'm not sure about other countries though As for Cake That is food It's not the way of the kuffar
So HoW DO they celebrate his birthday exactly? what do they do?

All the world does not revolve around deviated sufis and bid'ati neither.
This is not specific to Deobandis, even maaliki forbid it in their areas such as north africa when they see what evils take place at this "holy day". You should see yourself what they do, this has nothing to do with Islaam.
