I wish your name to be engraved in my heart
I will be grateful to you change this dead heart
My heart is dark and so my eyes remain dry
Hypocrisy and hubris wont let me cry
So change my heart and forgive my sins this day
Dont leave me drowning here alone and astray

Slm all very interesting thread. I have been trying to find a White Musk that has this very distinct after smell. I find a lot of white musks but they never give off that after smell.
Anyone know where to find this?

As-salamu Alaikum javvy_p,
I know of a famous and very well regarded white musk, seen by some as THE best white musk. It is by Abdus Samad Al-Qurashi, which is a saudi-based company. If you know someone going there, perhaps could ask them to get it for you. I've smelled it and it is ethereal - a beautiful, soft, bright and smooth musk that lasts a long time...perhaps what you are looking for. I've sampled many white musks, and i found this to be the best. It is slightly more expensive than you average white musk, but definitely worth it.

inshallah i will be importing some ittars into the UK from Saudi.
which ones are popular?
Itrs are best imported from India if you have the contacts. Some of the best itr franchises in Saudi, such as Ajmal, have Indian roots. Or you could get from Rasasi in Dubai who also do good quality.
If going for quality, then a collection of different grades of Oud, Ambar, Shamamatul Ambar, Khus, Mushk, Mukhalat Shuyookh, Rose (mumtaz if possible), Sandal, Jasmin. That should be a good start up selection. You can get different grades and mixes of oud and ambar with varying names such as shamama, mukhalat, dahn, ruh, khusoosi which will be or varying prices and grades.
Some men nowadays, for some reason, seem to opt for more feminine, flowery and sweet smells these days. You might want to cater for them too. Also, some people find the quality itrs mentioned above quite overpowering and like to go for something more subtle, especially when working in a non Muslim office environment where concentrated oil itrs are not common. These are 'real' itrs; not synthetic, wishy washy eau de toilette sprays in elaborate pink packaging.
You might want to buy one or two perfumes for women with itr notes. Again, Ajmal do some lovely ones. No need to deal with women; you could sell to men buying gifts for their wives. Lastly, there's loads of people selling cheap and mid-quality itrs here everywhere- market, Islamic book shops, clothes shops etc but not as many selling the top stuff. Then again, you'll have to find some perfume connoisseurs here to appreciate them too.

Interesting how the traditional Attar olfactory variations and more modern western influenced perfumes consumed are intermingling and creating new sense of what is the new culture of perfume usage .Originally Posted by UmHasan

Somehow the dividing line between male and female scents are more dynamic.
I personally love Raat Ki Raani (knight blossoming jasmine) attar for use after sunset. It really is night blossoming, if you use it during the day the scent dies quickly. If you use it after maghrib the scent gets stronger. This attar is known to have aphrodisiac properties, but be warned, I have heard it also attracts jinnath.
If you are in amaliyaat this is good to use when doing your chillah kashi.
