Asalaamu Alaykum Brothers and Sisters.
I've been thinking of relocating to Abu Dhabi, but wanted to know more about it from someone that lived there or near there. Any information would be helpful.
Thanks,
Abdul

Dear hammadrizwan,
First, thank you and may Allah (SWT) bless you for answering.
I would like any information on living there: employment (which shouldn't be a problem as I am an English teacher, including TESOL), living expenses, climate (I currently live in the desert), social atmosphere, Islam (majority types, mosques, percentages, etc.), attractions and events, elementary and high schools for English-speaking children (for my own kids), and anything else you can think of.
Salaam,
Abdulhamid

wasalaamz - this i my friends blog from dubai http://mjuddin.blogspot.com/. he's been there around least 5 years now. he's a teacher like you but from London.

Assalamualikum.
Climate : Currently temperatures in late 20's, in the coming months will reach early to late 40s.
Accomodation : The biggest problem! Many residents who work in Abu Dhabi are shifting to Dubai where prices fell and rent is cheaper compared to Abu Dhabi.
Dress code (females) : Mix of all cultures. Majority of the foreigners do not observe hijab.
Masjids /Mosques : Shouldn't be a problem, I believe. Masjids will be very easy to locate.
Bribe : Not taken by Government officials to the best of my knowledge.
Schools for children : 2nd major problem after accomodation. Look into it asap.
** I do not live in Abu Dhabi but have got relatives there.
