    Assalamulikum WR WB,

If one followed the great Awliya of India Sub cont (eg Imam i Rabbani, Sufi Master ImamdadAllah Makki, Imam Jami, Imam Saadi, Hazrat Shah Jalal, Syed Shah Taj Uddin and so forth) the past in regards to Mawlid, you will see that it is very much acceptable, as for people doing bad stuff of course we cannot condone that BUT the mawlid itself is what is being discussed, regardless of what people say about deobandis accepting it, from practice its quite clear that they do not, as a young kid I learnt my arabic at the prominent deobandi mosque the Islamic Academy in Manchester which naturally has links with all the prominent deobandi madarassas and they do not condone mawlid regardless of there being bad stuff there or not, why not just admit you don't like it.

    for your time.

PS Also judging by the remarks from some deobandis on this forum many this seems weird to them and has led many to say Mufti Adam is not a representative of deoband etc etc, why would they say that to someone they fully agreed with?

    Assalamulikum WR WB,

Brother Sim do you mean Hijaz College in Coventry?
Anyway I haven't been to any institution named Hijaz University or college but I have heard of the institution at Coventry.
Is there any reason why you wanted to know?

    Walikum Salaam.

    Baraaheen-e-Qaati'ah, page 148)

    are FAKE.

    1) ALL the deobandi Ulama believe in 'Esaal-e-Thawaab" [Transference of reward].
    2) What was described as being like the beliefs of the Hindus regarding their idol "khanayyah" is not Mawlid, but the idea that Rasoolullah Sallalaahu 'alyhi wa Sallam re-enters this world and is reborn every twelth Rabi ul awwal.
what do you mean by FAKE ? Those quotes do exist in the book, regardless of what ulema believe, and what they practice. Mufti Taqi is a good example of someone opposing mawlid. Mufti Ibn Adam Kawthari is a good example of someone not opposing it. Deobandis never cease to confuse me, so I stay away from them.

Also, somebody please tell me, why Deobandi Ulema write one thing in one of their books, and then take a 180 degrees turn and write the exact opposite in another???

I would recommend that you pick up a copy of Baraheen-e-Qaatiyah and see for yourself.

The idea that Maulana Ashraf 'Ali Thanwi or Maulana Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi or Maulana Khaleel Ahmad Saharanpuri Rahimahumullah ever said that Eethal-e-thawaab is a bida'h is a blatant lie.

    Okay

The copy says on pg. 148, Baraheen-e-Qaatiyah:

Ab har roz konsi wiladat muqarrar hoti hai? Pas yeh har roz i`ada-e-wiladat ka tou misal hounood kay saand kanaiyya ki wiladat ka har saal kartay hain.

Salam, both Mufti Taqi and mufti ibn adam hold the same stance towards eid-milan-un-nabi being celebrated only on the 12th of Rabbiul awwal, and being done in the manner in which it is today. They just express it differently.
