Why don't we just all throw Ourselves into the ocean and just die? Why does the muslim ummah even exist? let's let the christians and the jews take over the world while we figure out if we should enter the bathroom with our left or right foot?

Depends on what the discussion is all about.

There is nothing wrong in conversing Islam or islamic topics with each other, because why are we all here? We are here to connect with one another through understanding our religion and getting the same, we've been there, and done that type of relation. We all have our own way of reaching to Islam, and we are here to express ourselves with finding ground with practicing it.

Allahu Alim. Allah knows our intentions and knows Best.
I'm not a scholar, nor a sheikha nor an expert when it comes to my deen, which is why I reach out to this forum discussion board in discussing my religion, to find things we have in common with each other.

Besides, if we cannot communicate with our own muslim brothers and sisters, how can we expect to communiciate with the others? If we can get along or even converse, then we can be ready to discuss the same matters with others.
But, the topics should be limited and not get too much into free mixing, and getting to know each other as that would be totally inappropriate.
There are forums out there, islamic or muslim ones that allow all open talk like that. But, you won't find that here or at least from what I remember.
