InshaAllah i will be in the bay area (san jose) for work purposes for a week -- was wondering if anyone lived around there to suggests halal restaurants, masjids, and other places to visit in the bay area.

Salam.

Lucky you. I've visisted before but don't live there. See zabihah.com for the many halal restaurants. You also have the Zaytuna Institute and several other masjids in the area.

As far as places to visit, there is so much nature there to observe. You can drive down route 1 and see the amazing coastline, you can hike the hills or mountains, or you can visit the city of San Francisco to see a city built on hills.

There's a good brother on this forum named "Shane" who is from the Bay Area, maybe he can help you more.
