Shaykh al Islam Mufti Muhammad Taqi 'Uthmani (db) and his respected elder brother, Mufti al 'Azam Pakistan Mufti Muhammad Rafi' 'Uthmani (db) are two of the greatest contemporary Muslim scholars alive today.

Some (like Shaykh Faraz Rabbani) regard Mufti Taqi 'Uthmani (db) to be the greatest Hanafi scholar alive today.
