2:2 SHAKIR: This Book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who guard (against evil).
5:27 SHAKIR: ....... (The other) said: Allah only accepts from those who guard (against evil).
سُوۡرَةُ المعَارج
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِشَہَـٰدَٲتِہِمۡ قَآٮِٕمُونَ
In English it means "And those who stand by their testimony"or "and those who are upright in their testimonies" These are amongst those who will later be in Heavens...
Explanation: they neither conceal evidence nor change it in any way for selfish motives.
It is also Explained differently in other Locations such as a Testimony of Truth in front of a Tyrant Ruler such Hussein and Yazid...
or Testimony that the Ummah's Prophet has indeed Delivered the Message.
It is something that you are under orders from Allah to do so itmust be done.
Basically It is talking about "Al Tawheed" or the Unity of Allah and that we must Not hide it from people and say it to All clearly without concealing it.

It is originally Shahd but is used as Shaheed which is a Name of Allah such as I'lm and Aleem (knowlege and all-knowing).
Because Allah will be a Shahed on humankind on the day of Judgement, meaning he will be a witness.
A Shahed is said to be a Man of Knowlege That Shows or Offers his Knowleg (thus not concealing knowlege).
a Shahed (Witness) Offers his shahadah (Testimony).
However a Shahed is singular and the Plural is Shuhada'a (used for martyrs in Islam).
As for Shahadah it is Singular in Arabic and the Plural is "Shahadat" the word mentionned in the Verse Above that is "Shahadatihum" which means "Thier testimonies"But in the Arabic language the Word is open to many explanation and can carry many meanings and situations just like most arabic words.
So in that Verse it means not to conceal the Testimonies You recieve from Allah which can be Summed up in TWO Testimonies and that is the Message of Tawheed (Unity of Allah) and the Message delivered by the specific Prophet in question.
In Islam another Quranic verse As I recall Allows a person to withold or conceal his Testimony in Case his Life is in Danger and he may Die.
