Reliable Scholars in the Arabic World

Which reliable (and big) scholars can be today found among the Arab scholars?
I'm sure Allah will not have deprived them totally, I just can't think of any living Arab scholar not obsessed by Salafism. And I'm sure the mistake is on my part. Wallahu 'Alam.

Which reliable (and big) scholars can be today found among the Arab scholars?

Of course there are many reliable Arab scholars which are not Salafi-Influenced/Minded. Majority of the Salafi scholars are situated in Saudi Arabia. In places like Jordan, Yemen, Syria etc, there are many reliable scholars like, Habib Umar, Habib Jifri, Shaykh Nuh Keller, Shaykh Abd al-Razzaq al-Halabi, Shaykh Dr. Abd al-Latif Farfur al-Hasani.

Moreover if you look at institutes like , Abu Noor - Syria, Dar Al Mustafa - Yemen , Al Azhar - Cairo and others you will find many reliable scholars.

Well, that may be your opinion. Anyway, he didn't say all of Azhar -- but some of their Shuyukh at least.

Just read some fatawa on their (al-Azhar) website, or talk with someone graduated there (al-Azhar) in the last years..

Please define what you mean by 'reliable scholars' as some people view ulema who trim their beards as not being reliable.

I'm one of those people who does not consider someone who trims his beard beyond the permissible length as being reliable.
