    Default Wild water for purification

    A brother asks:

If you go outside, walking/hiking/biking around in plain nature and after the call of natures occured you want to clean yourself and maybe do a wudu after that, obviously you don't have any tap so you use water from a nearby rivulet or lake (greenish/brown water).

Is there any harm with using such water (Note: in European countries) from a point of view of bacteria and/or illnesses, especially as one is washing sensible parts of ones body (mouth, privates etc.)

Is brownish/greenish water of a lake ritually purifying?
A water being tahir doesn't automatically mean that it is healthy to consume, right?

I thought that Asl is that water from lakes is pure and purifying, unless there is something obvious in the water that makes one suspiscious (like a dead animal, or traces of Najas etc)

flowing rivers are usually fine as long as (as the brother said) there is no obvious contamination. just use common sense.

check if there are fish in the river or if other animals are using it. if they are then it should be ok.

as for the green colour, isnt that just moss growing on top of the lake?

in a village mosque in pakistan, we used to do wudhu and drink from a pond in the mosque courtyard. the other villagers used to use the water for consumption as well. that water was green and had moss growing on the top.

Can one make ghusl in a flowing river by some plonging to whole body one time in the water or will one have to specifically apply water on the body like when using a shower in a standard home?

    for your reply brother.

I asked this question because as far as I know, simply plunging the whole body under water in a bathtub will not be valid as the quantity of water contained is 'not enough', even if the whole body is wet. If this is a false information, then please correct me.

Yet I like to know if a river will be sufficient for simple plunging without any specific pouring of water over the body.

    dear.

I've always heard that completely plunging/imerging in water (with also rinsing the mouth and the nostrisl), ALSO WITHOUT NIYYAH OF GHUSL, would be fine in re-obtaining major purity...

Please anyone corrected me if I am wrong...
