tamimah is totally put in the corner by declaring those hadith as weak. so they only agree with Ruqyah and not TAmimah though ibn taymiyah(rh)/imam ahmad(rh) spoke about tamimah, but that hadith/athar is considered weak by later scholars i.e. sh.albani(rh).

so if a hadith catagorised as weak, total fatwa become somehow weak. so i didn´t bother to argue with them.

    Assalamu alaikum,

Obviously its a typo: they should not contain any shirk. "if they do contain shirk" is wrong grammar - if that was implied it should have said "if they contain shirk". This shows that the "not" in "if they do not contain shirk" was mistakenly forgotten to be typed.

The reason I am asking this question is because I have a book my Moulana Thanwi which is full of various ta'weez/ruqyah some of which require one to wear them on the neck or hands.

But since Mufti saheb has quoted hadith and aathaar regarding the matter I have satisfaction it is not something permitted through analogy but through precedence in the action of the early salafs and even the sahabas. A hadith from Muslim shareef has even been quoted.

Personally I don't like Ta'weez either...it just looks weird hanging in peoples necks.

I found The Book of Sufi Healing in my house
    http://www.amazon.com/Book-Sufi-Heal.../dp/0892813245
In it they show diagrams of taweez of 'naqshbandi and chisti' sufis in afghanistan. Some of the taweez contain Ya Jibrail, Ya Israfil, Ya Mikail, Ya izrail, some contain Ya Howa, some contain just ha h (ha alif followed by ha), and also ya followed by ba dal waw and ha (ya badoh maybe, what ever that means)

    Assalamu alaikum,
For delicate matters like this it is better to stick to Deobandi sources. They have very sober and straightforward aqidah.

Sorry to be off topic, but check this out about taweez. Make sure you watch the whole thing, especially the ending.
