How do you tell the difference between a waking vision experience and a hallucination?

I believe this is a very delicate subject that many have attempted to learn.

Also,with regard to dreams it is said that when the Day of Resurrection draws near,the dreams of a believer hardly fail to come true.The dream of a believer ,being one of the forty-six parts of An-Nubu'wa(Prophethood),is never false.[Sahih Bukhari:Book of Interpretation of Dreams:Ch.6:No.2182]

As per this ,hallucinations can be auto ruled out for a believer as they,by definition, are untrue.
