Default Love and hate for the love of Allah

    Assalamualaikum,

Can someone please explain how someone can hate another person for the love of Allah? Can you do this if this person is a Muslim? Or is it just for nonMuslims?

Love those who Allah loves and hate those who Allah hates.

    As Salaam u Alaikum.

One is not to hate the person, instead, one should hate the wrong the person does.

Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (R.A) says, can you imagine if the doctor hates his patient, how would he want to cure him?

Wrong doing is a sickness, and Allah has asked us to ask for His forgiveness and try and do good instead of wrong.

Humans are weak, Nafs e Ammara is with all of us . If we continue doing wrong, we go far from Allah Ta'aalas Grace, and end up apparently being shunned. We have been accustomed to think of this being shunned as HATE.

No one generally likes to associate with habitual wrongdoers. Yet, when the wrong doer repents and comes in association with a true Sheikh, he is accepted with love, and in the sohabat of the sheikh, repents and comes back into the path. The sheikh to begin with, did not hate him no matter how bad he was, He showed disapproval towards his wrong doing.

Its the same with Allah. How could He HATE His banda? Every night, when one third of the night is remaining, He asks who wants to repent that I may forgive him ? Who wants to ask that I may give him? This is pure LOVE.

Allah does not hate anyone, He waits for them to turn towards Him.

On the day of Judgement He will not ask why you sinned. He will ask, you had enough time, yet you asked not for My forgiveness.

Muslim or non Muslim, dont hate the person, hate the sikness in him or her, and with Aqlaaq, get them to give up negative traits, which are recognised as evil or sin.

"Muhabbat may hai khuwaat kay banay saang bhi moom
Husn e Aqlaaq say Kaafir ko Musalmaan kar de."

Do a search on wala'a wa'l bara'a. You'll find more than enough information on it.
