    salaam

subhanAllah just stumpled across this thread yesterday such amazing stories of awliya. i really should explore more of sunniforum instead of general islaam lol.

there is a book i recently read called tajalliat i jazb by hazrat hakeem akhtar ( damaat barakatuhum). its an amazing read and recommend it to everyone. its based on the ayah of the quran to the nearest meaning 'Allah pulls towards him who he wills' and goes on to give stories of how Allah (swt) picked random individuals who aware totally lost in dunya and gave them his divine love. May Allah (swt) grant us all his divine love and join the lofty celestrial realms

    Native American Indian Path

I travel the Path of the Great Spirit,
Reading all I can since I was 15,
    Learning many religions, as
My path is long, a narrow.

The Spirit of the Lion, is a great Spirit,
Especially for a mother, of 4 children.
    Although many scoff, many dislike,
Its a Path us Indians have to take.

I have chosen my path to follow,
it has led me to Muslim Faith,
Now I know reason Mecca calls me Home,
    But I cannot continue,
    I stay here at home.

But it doesn't change me, just the people around thee

    To Allah we belong,
For the Spiritual Feeling isn't wrong,
The messenger those seek, isn't of Isreal belief.

I have travel is path before, many lifetimes,
Again I write the same old songs,
    To see who remembers.
I know what I felt when reading the Quran.

The Spirit connected an I wept,
Thy Prophet Muhammad should be reconized world wide,
    Peace always with him.

    But where I grew up,
I didn't realize what my dreams meant,
Until I finally read the Quran an the laws,
I understand why Mecca calls to me,
    An the Al-Kabah.

But I don't know why now,
Just know after reading the Quran,
Pointed out one website as a false Disciple,
Watch them change there site around,
    As informatiom they sent me,
Asking for the Almightly God's name,
When its posted in scholar forums, why they need me to tell them?
I know what I feel, an I know what the Spirit feels, it led me to you,
It led me to Allah, an Thy Prophet Muhammad, Blessed are they.

I think this is the other Rabiah that you mentioned. She was amazing also.....masha'Allah!!

    RABIAH SHAAMIYAH

She was the wife of Hadhrat Ahmad Bin Abi Hawaari (rahmatullahi alayh). Sometimes the state of Divine Love dominated her; sometimes it was the state of Divine Fear. She would pass the whole night performing Salaat. Once her husband said to her: “I have not seen anyone besides you performing Salaat the whole night.”
She replied: “Subhanallah! How can a man of your calibre make such remarks? I get up when the call for Salaat comes (i.e. from Allah Ta`ala).”
Once when it was her time to perform Salaat, her husband, Hadhrat Ahmad Hawaari was eating. She started admonishing him. He said: “Let me first complete eating.”
She said: “We are not the type of people whose eating is disturbed by the remembrance of the Aakhirah.”
She once said to him: “My love for you is not like the love for a husband. My love is a sister’s love for her brother.”
When she would cook something for him, she would say: “My chief! Eat this. It has been prepared with Tasbeeh.”
She would also encourage him to get married again.

    Orchards of Love
no disrespect to the pious women mentioned in this thread but one must not forget that while such inspiring stories make us see our own short comings of emaan, one must not follow these awliyah's way of life. The only person we must follow is the Holy Prophet (PBUH). His life was the best life, and the women he has singled out were the ones who are the best of women and any female muslim should set just them as example. They are : Hazrat Maryam, Hazrat Asiya, Hazrat Khadijah, Hazrat Fatimah.

Yet still above all of them is the personality of the Prophet (PBUH) who decalred it unlawful to remain recluse from people, living alone in jungles and remaining unmarried. Islam does not encourage 'rehbaniyat' but it encourages a society which is submissive to Allah's commands. Anyone who thinks they are 'above' such commands isnt following the Prophet's sunnat. I found several things in the biographies disturbing. and such biographies should not be publicized. i will not quote any of these 'wrongs' but you have the sunnah of the Prophet and the way of his wives to double check whether any person's life is according to Sunnat or not.
I hope i havent offended anyone.
    Allah knows best.
