which mosque are you going from?
The reason for all trouble on earth, is that people have lost sight of their Lord’s Will behind all events. They have lost sight of the hand of the One Who is testing them through those events. They have stopped seeing events as tests from their Lord. Therefore they continue failing those tests. "

What some people call 'brainwash' other people would call teaching and learning. All that will happen is that they will teach you how to be a good Muslim and present you with their way of doing it. The only person who can allow a 'brainwashing' is you.

THus, you should go, lsit, learn and isten with them, and then accept or reject their ways. If you accept them, then you have made a concious decision and havent been brainwashed. If you reject their ways (i don't advise that), then again, you haven't been brainwashed.

However, if you follow the advice of the people who are saying to you 'dont go! you'll be brainwashed', then, sadly, you HAVE been brainwashed - by these so-called friends of yours, and what's more, you've been deprived of the chance of experiencing the Jamaat system.

The only loser will be you.

    Hope this makes sense.

May the Peace be with you.

website currently under construction. Will be updated soon.

    salaam,

jamaat work is good as long as you understand that it is not the only means of self rectification or the only means of tabligh and dawah.

tabligh jamaat itself is just an organisation that carries out the effort of tabligh and self rectification. there are other organisations that also do this. if you join with tabligh jamaat then you should not look down on other organisations as long as they follow the quran and sunnah.

also tabligh work is just one aspect of islam. there are other aspects of islam as well which we should pay heed to. tabligh is not the whole of islam. but if done properly tabligh jamaat can help you build a good foundation. but tabligh jamaat is just the abc of deen. its the beginning and not the end.

due to the nature of tabligh jamaat, many times you will be learning from people who are not scholars . because of this you may pick up things which may turn out to be wrong. for this reason when returning to your home you should get guidance from a local scholar to help you in what you have learnt.

    hope that helps.

    wasalaam

And if you give comment about islam as a ignore guy, u r not brainwashed.

Or if its a person who regular come in mosque and has bit ilm, ask them in which part they brainwash. brainwashed about practising sunnah?

for a person like urself please go jamaat it will be life changing... At the sametime sit with ulema and study islam too.... In my opinion jamaat is very good for learning very important things like saying salaat with jamaat with takbeer-e-ula, reading some quraan, increasing imaan etc but dont go there expecting to become very learned because thats not the purpose...some people make this mistake and think by going jamaat i will learn everything and thats why they also avoid ulema... Please do not do this mistake... go jamaat as u will love it inshallah but also go to ulema(i assume ur from bradford so please visit shaykh ahmed ali and listen to his bayans)

I totally agree with this comment.

I reckon the brainwashing bit plays in when people believe it's the only way, or as they say in Urdu, "Yahi kaam he!"

by this sentence masheikh refer to the importance of the work but not the jamat itself. people being brain washed when they think, Only TJ`s way is the way. But masheikh refer to the work and not the jamat. Yahi that work which will bring the zeal of learning ilm and doing dhikr and building iman, but not yahi the jamat only. hope i didn`t confuse.

sh.saed ahmad khan(rahmatullahi alaih) said this work connects to prophet(sw) and Allah and not to any sheikh or to any jamat. (end quote)

I Heard long time ago, cant remember from whom, one of the aim of this work is make every ummati as daii and not jamati.

So a daii may attend jamat and may also not. But doing work with jamat has now a days like getting certificate from a madrassah that i studied, where if a people dont study in madrassah though they have ilm, people are bit confused about them.
