Default Encouraging Kafir/Kafir Marriage - Halal?

Is it permissible for a Muslim to encourage ones kafir mother to marry some other kafir?

    Imagine this situation:

A Muslim lives with his kafir mother and her kafir partner (not his real father) in an apartment. The Muslim wants to marry a Muslim girl and life with her (at least for some year or so) in this apartment. In order to avoid the problem with the Muslim wife staying alone at home with the non-mahram partner of the kafir mother, the Muslim suggests that the kafir mother and her partner marry in order that the Muslim wife can stay at home in halal way. Because if she stays at home while alone with a non-mahram this would not be permitted I guess.

So could the kafir partner be turned into a mahram through marriage with kafir mother?

According to Beheshti Zewar Islam accepts other marriage forms (e.g. christian marriage) as valid. I do NOT mean that Muslim woman with Christian man marriage is valid, I mean that the marriage forms found in other cultures are accepted as valid marriage between kafirs by Islam. Therefore I guess the Muslim could make it possible for his wife to live with kafir mother/partner inside same apartment in a permissible way.

    Is this correct?

According to the shafii school the mothers boyfriend will not be considered mahram to youre wife, even if they get married (and even if the marriage is considered valid). I assume the rule is the same in the hanafi school.

Ask an Imam or better still a seassoned mufti
    try www.askimam.org, www.daruliftaa.org, www.sunnipath.com.
Not everyone are scholar and with most things some will attampt to answer instead of saying I don't know...
People can give general advice but for specific ruling, it is better to go to scholar who actually knows the matter in detail as well as purpose of the law and ruling.

    Bismillah...

I heard that according to the Shafi'i Madhhab, for a Woman to be considered a Christian, she has to be from the Bani Israil as those are who the teachings of Isa Alahyis-Salam were intended for by Allah... However the Hanafi Madhhab disagrees...

    Wassalam

So what would you suggest for such a situation? Would it be still permissible for the Muslim wife to stay alone at home when the Muslim husband is out and the kafir partner is at home too?

Or is it the only option to move out of the appartment?

just wait til Monday morning to send your question. Darul Ifta's usually closed for the weekend; even they need a bit of a break!

I personally would suggest the Muslim man to move into another apartment, even if it's just a door away.

Hm... I only got it once to be honest. Maybe abuhajira can ask since he goes to that madrassa : )

BTW, what time do you try to ask a question? I usually try around 9 am or so, and it works then. (+2GMT btw)

If they arent considered mahram it would not be allowed for them to stay alone. I honestly dont know what you should do, but it will be difficult to live together since she will have to cover her hair and body when he is around.

I pray and hope you find a good solution.
