I have a question about the speed of recitation for memorization repetitions in Mauritania, please. As I am trying to better understand the methods described in the following thread, I calculated the 'time' for Qur'an at a pace of '1 minute per page', in Post #55, along with a few videos of the students reciting very fast:

I imagine that students recite slowly for corrections to the Sheikh, but how fast do they recite for memorization and review? My children and I use the speed of the late Sheikh Hussary tarteel: http://flawlessquran.com/site/?p=168 for learning, memorizing, and review.

And are the methods described in post #1, of the same thread, accurate? How does it differ from how you personally learned and teach?

stick to husary and you will be fine do not copy those that recite so fast you cant hear a word . stick to husary yes the methods are correct but i allow my students to do it as they please as long as they have memorised their portion .

i am one of the billion muslims out there, no different then any one else. please do not copy it over the answer was for you i dont like being quoted thats something the scholars deserve.

and please include me in your dua because i am of need of dua like any other muslim.

just set up a regular class where you memorise a certain portion then set a a time for when you want to finish the quran 2-3 years is considered average

However, I find that Sheikh Hussary's, ra, tarteel is good for learning to recite, memorization, and review; and more beautiful sounding to learn (indirectly through mimicking) a basic maqaamat, rather than using his mu'allim recitation, which is a very flat and more of a spoken sounding style:

and then one can easily move on to his mujawwad recordings to learn more maqaamat, and if you really want to master it, then listening to the late Sheikh Mustafa Ismail, or Sheikh Abdul-Basit is the next level.
