Default Question related to a Hadith in Al Adab Al Mufrad by Imam Bukhari

    Assalaam'aaleykum!

Abu Nu’aym related to us who said that Sufyan related to us from Abu Ishaq from Abdar Rahman ibn Sa’d, who said:

Ibn Umar had numbness in his leg, whereupon a man said to him:

“Remember the most beloved of people to you”, so he said: “Ya Muhammad”
Imam al-Bukhari in Adab al-Mufrad (Hadith No. 964):
Is this the authentic translation of this very hadith? Does the original Arabic text have the word 'Ya' in the Hadith?

I would appreciate if any knowledgeable brother could help me in figuring out the truth.

In the following translation by Aisha Bewley, taken, from the Sunnipath Library, it only mentions the name Muhammad without the Ya:

    964. 'Abdu'r-Rahman ibn Sa'd said, "Ibn 'Umar's foot went to sleep and a man said to him, 'Mention the person you love most.' He said, 'Muhammad.'"

I am not sure what's in the arabic though.

I'll try and check this again tonight, but it doesn't have the word 'ya' in a few online versions that I've checked.

The arabic text in Al Adab Al Mufrad does not have 'ya'. However, there are narrations in another books which has the word 'ya'.

    Waaleykum'Assalaam

I would not be wrong in saying that Barelawis are at their best in forging Hadith as per their whims & fancies and to prove their Deviant Aqaid.

I have done intensive search on internet about the very same hadith but I could not see any of the version with the word 'ya'. Please respond brother after you have checked it by tonight.

That's what I want to know, Brother, which one would be considered more authentic-one with 'ya' or without.?
