Salam-wa-Rahmatullah,
Can anyone recommend one? I suppose what worries me is that in this Blessed Month, when the shayateen are chained up, these thoughts are from my own nafs. That definitely freaks me out quite a bit.

"If you were to destroy in mankind the belief in immortality, not only love but every living force maintaining the life of the world would at once be dried up. Moreover, nothing then would be immoral; everything would be lawful, even cannibalism."
- Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov
I dont think there is any dua brother.
Reading the advises of the 'Doctor of this Ummah' made me sure that there can't be any dua which will do the job and we won't have to do anything from our side.
Remember, a specific dua isn't necessary. You can just cry to Allah, but of course the duas done by the Last Nabi ( sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) have their own noor.

How about this?
اللهم إني أعوذ بك من علم لا ينفع ومن قلب لا يخشع ومن دعاء لا يسمع ومن نفس لا تشبع
ِAllahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'ilmin la yanfa' wa min qalbin ya yakhsha' wa min du'a'in la yusma' wa min nafsin la tashba'
"O Allah! I seek refuge with You from knowledge that does not benefit, and from a heart that is not subdued and humble, and from a supplication that is not heard, and from a self that is not satisfied."
Lost in an ocean of doubt and confusion am I
