Asslamo Allaikum,
Its a dua which is promoted by Rafidhees (Shias) and adopted by people of Bidah. It has no basis in Shariah as a complete dua bits and bobs mixed in from here and there.
Instead I recommend the following book on Duas from Qur'aan & Sunnah:
http://www.esnips.com/doc/e03d8359-f...db/sunnah_duas
Please browse from page 27 onwards.
Duas are given in Arabic with English Transliteration & Translation and references.

I second uncle Muadh' post.
It is also used by the Turkish "Nur Cemaat" (Nur Jamaat), in the copy I once hold it in the hands the book acknowledged on one of the first pages that the du'a is from shi'ah source.

i agree with brothers muadh and al-faruqi,
it is a dua used by the shia ithna'ashers, it's usually recited every ramadhan esp. during the last ten nights. and there's also water(special kinda after reciting the dua over it) thats distributed to the jamaat.

ain't we got enough duas to recite from without going into fabricated ones?

my reply:
sorry brother i did not mean the dua is fabricated but meant to say that anything coming from the shias is normally fabricated and has no bases in the deen, we have got enough islamic literature we can use day in day out for many years to come and we still will have plenty left.
I am very new on this forum, but I am taking the privilege to speak bold, I hope its ok.
I didn’t find any thing against Quran, Sunnah and Toheed in this Dua, it’s beautiful from what ever source it’s coming.
You can ask, beg, and pray to All Mighty Allah in what ever words, what ever comes from your heart …..
