Chasing Up A Job Application

I know this is non-islamic but i like this forum and not really part of many forums so i would like people's input on this situation.

Basically, I applied to two jobs at the same company but different roles. I applied to one two weeks ago and one last week. I appplied directly through the companies website recruitement page. The posts have come down now. I just wondered whether i should ring up to see what my application progress is? or shal i not bother?

The second job post that I applied to last week, even though its gone down from the companies website, its gone up on various different recruitment agency websites which i find abit weird...so do i still ring up??

You can call them or email them. However, if they wanted to call you for interview they would call you.

The current climate is a difficult one for jobs. A basic job is nowadays getting over 100 applicants.

You should definitely call them up. Don't email. Call. Most people play lotto with job applications--they just apply then forget about what happened to it. Giving a call makes a lot of difference in the minds of employers because it shows extra care and effort from your part. It's a great way to stand out.

Send your resume to the recruiting agencies where that job went up as well. It is most likely that the employer was overwhelmed with a barrage of resumes so he is seeking a recruiter's help to weed out the unqualified. Give the recruiters a call before you apply to ask how they want the application.
