    Default Dawah to Russian Friend

    Salam,

I have a russian friend who is interested in islamic practises and I think he would like to know more. I have never done da'wah to nonmuslim before, what are the strategy I need to do?

    My questions are as follow:

    1. Any good islamic book for non muslim to read which is easy to understand and follow? Is there a pdf copy?

    2. How should I approach my friend?

    3. Any hadis or Quranic verse on the compulsory nature of providing information about islam to non muslim?

    Hope some brothers can help.

Asalaamu Alaikum, the main thing is brother to be the best towards him and NEVER get frustrated when your giving dawah. Give dawah using wisdom and patience and don't put any pressure on him. Give him material and explain to him best you can any questions he may have but don't put ANY pressure on him at all. He will himself want more and more once he starts looking into Islam. Be there for him as a friend would and encourage him in the best ways possible without putting any pressure on him. If you don't know the answer to any questions he may ask then tell him you will get back to him but don;t answer them if your not sure. Tell him you will find out and get back to him. The main thing is do as much dua for him as you can for Allah to guide him then if Allah wills he will guide him to the truth and if not then it was never meant to be. But lets have hope in Allah and do the best we can to invite all towards the truth.

I hope these links help. Please remember me in your dua's.

You may give him a book written by a great Russian writer Leo Tolstoy about Islam. The book was kept hidden from the Russian people for a long time.

I have got the scanned copy of the Russian book. But, the book is quite big.

    Asalamualaykum WW.
I am not pointing fingers, i myself am guilty of it. I once listened to hadrat Maulana Muhamed Saad Khandelwi's bayan and he mentioned that when we want to give dawah to people why do we give them Books? If u research and see the times of the Sahaba there was NO kitab on islam. The Mud'oo would stay with a sahabi and learn all of islam from him. Infact we should have that much of sound islamic knowledge to give da'wah.imagine urself on an aeroplane..where would you get a kitab from??!
I think WE should rather adopt a practical islamic lifestyle. That would be more effective than giving pdf files and books for da'wah. In this fast paced world, many dont have time to read all that!

your right to say the best dawah is showing it practically but in our times we probably put people off coming to islam with the way we carry on, when you hear the stories of the sahaba they were such people that they were the walking talkin quran, but we are unfoutunatly not ,when we hear the story of hadrat umar (ra) we learn that he came to islam once he read the verse from surah taha, so i would say both methods should be adopted to maximise the effect on them, below are many links which should be used for this purpose.

    Assalaamualaikum wa rahmatullah

This is very interesting that Leo Tolstoy had written on Islam. I haved quite admired his writing and had patiently read War and Peace. I would love to get a copy of the book you mention. Would it be possible for you to upload it or any such way?

    Jazakallah

    Salam-wa-Rahmatullah,

Perhaps the following site may be of use:

    http://www.islam.ru/

Also the Russian Muslim forum below (where your friend can ask questions in his native language):

    http://umma.islam.ru/phpBB2/

Hope the above is of benefit insha'Allah.

    Wasalam.

Please be patient. Within several days I will upload the book onto a file sharing website.

    AA.

Usually if a person is sincere about reverting he will have some questions.

Find out what they are, then ask a person of knowledge the answers.

Then have him in the company of good Muslims.
