Default What is the reward for reward of reciting the Quran in another language?

    Assalamu Alaikum,

My understanding is that when one recites the Quran Shareef in arabic, one receives 10 rewards for each letter they read (not entirely sure, but I think so), does one receive reward for reciting the Quran Shareef when one reads it in another language such as English?
In the Hereafter a terrible punishment awaits you but also forgiveness from Allah swt and His good pleasure. The life of this world is nothing but the enjoyment of delusion. (Surah al-Hadid: 20)

According to my understanding, the reward is only gained if the Quran was read in Arabic.

The rweard for reading the translation would be seperate from the reward for reading each letter in the arabic. But the point is that there would be reward for the english as you are rewarded for trying to understand the qur'an.

    As Salaamu Alaykum,

The recitation of the Qur'an in Arabic is a seperate reward altogether whilst the understanding the Qur'an and trying to bring its meaning into our lives is a seperate reward also.

Therefore, a person who does one and not the other will get the reward on one that one deed. But it should be noted that there are two different acts concerned here.

This is similar to the Miswaak. One gets the reward of cleaning the teeth, even if it be with a brush, but will not receive the reward of the Miswaak.

    Wallahu A'lam.
