Mufti Zar Wali Khan mentioned that Tafsir Ruh al-Ma'ani is the most authentic and comprehensive tafsir of our time. It would be nice to see it translated into English.
Both of these tafseers presuppose knowledge of the uloom deeniyya, such as nahw, sarf, balagha, [especially] mantiq, kalam and some usool fiqh. It would be sort of pointless attempting to render these multi-volume tafseer books into English. Anyone aspiring to access such books needs to pay their dues and hit the nahw-sarf manuals, followed by formal study of the other subjects mentioned.

It doesn't take too long either. You need a couple of years of dedicated study.

    Mufti Sahib,

You are right. I am studying Sarf and Nahw now but it has been going very slow due to other reasons. I guess sometimes the nafs flutters with impatience when I hear about such tafaasir.

    Wasalaam

I take your point on the eagerness to access these great works; however the one seeking the knowledge of these kitaabs will not experience its complete benefits unless you have undertaken the study of the keys to these kitaabs as mufti sahib has mentioned above.

Yesterday we had our first tafseer lesson with mufti sahib and it was an amazing experience for me personally. All those months of hard work and great effort on the part of the students and our teacher is now coming to fruition. I found myself appreciating so much of what mufti sahib was discussing and conveying to us. Mufti sahib was drawing from the great tafseer works mentioned above e.g. Abu Saud, Baydhawi,Ruhul Ma'aani and Bayanul Quraan. These are profound works on Quraanic tafseer and I can safely say that accessing them can only be done through structured study under the guidance of a competent teacher.

We are not yet at the level of reading them by ourselves (inshallah with more hard work our time will soon come) but we definitely are at a level where we can appreciate the discussions and messages being conveyed by these great authors and by default the Glorious words of Allah most merciful.

Before I password protect the directory and restrict it to students, here's a chance to listen to our first three sessions:

    www.shariahprogram.ca/tafseer-recordings/

Brother Sulaiman84 etc., go ahead and download the files.

for the reminder. Insan is nasyaan.

my time will come again when I study under a qualified teacher. Brother, do you happen to be part of that online Alim course?

I need to re-evaluate my situation and see what's best for me in my conditions.
