brothers what is the need for judging mansur al hallaj (rahimullah).
we are here to increase our imaan and get known to the greatest and the only true religion islaam. So discussing mansur al hallaj is useless .some small brains here will declare some absurd fatwa on him.etc.. spoiling his own imaan. so we should abstain from such discussions.we all ahle sunnah wal jammah consider him to be a true but some allamah ibn taimiyah influenced sunni may differ here.for them a piece of advice there is no use to declare some one kaafir who has passed away 11 centuries earlier and spoil our imaan.
and regaring salafis tell them to read the books of miyan nazzer husain ,waheed zaman khan ,sana ullah amirtsari, nawab hasan khan (these are indian salafis of the previuos generation.).they all have loads of praises for sufis.
Abul Mughith Hussin ibn Mansur al-Hallaj studied under Shaykh Junaid al-Baghdadi. It has been reported by Shaykh al-Hujwiri that it was by the order of Shaykh Junaid himself (on his authority as a FAQIH not a SUFI) that al-Hajjaj be executed.Originally Posted by AbuZayd

Radiyallahu ta'ala anhum ajmain.

hopefully someone can shed some light on this matter. I recently had a conversation with a person and he stated that when this person (al-Hallaj )was executed that some of his followers heard him doing dhiker, is this possible or were these indivduals hallucinating?
Ibrahim al-Harbi said, ‘I heard Ahmad Ibn Hanbal say, ‘If you love that Allah should keep you upon that which you love, then remain upon that which He loves, and the good is in the one who sees no good in himself.”

Assalam o 'alaykum,
According to Khawaja Baqi Billah, shaikh of Mujaddid Alf al-Sani, Mansur had a tajjali from Allah and he heard Ana al-Haq, and he loved it so much that he kept repeating Ana al-Haq. This usually happens when an individual hears some poem, etc, and if he like it, he keep repeating those words.

Regardless of what a bunch of laymen speculate about 1100 years after the fact, al-Hallaj was executed because the jurists of his time all decreed that it be so.
So take it up with them.

In sirr al asrar of Sheikh Abdal Qadir al Jilani, the incident was explained by comparing it with the tree of fire through which Musa (alaihi salam) heard Allah. Just as it was not the tree itself that spoke nor hulul, in similar way it was not here in the case of al-hallaj too although they heard it from the direction.
And Allah knows best.
