Default ANSWERED: 2 questions about Islam

    Assalam u Alaikum!

    - It's said that Allah created human beings for us to worship Him. Correct? Why would Allah want us to worship Him? I dont mean that as a disrespect of course but he is the most powerful thing, well nothing really compares to him if you really belive in Him isnt it? So why would he want to be worshipped? One reason, in my opinion, could be that if you worship Him you lead a good and pious life. But I am a little curious as to is there a reason specified why Allah would like his children to worship him?

    - This is a silly question probably but it springs from my inquistive nature. Who created Allah? It seems, from what you suggested, that Allah doesnt have a beginning or and end. He neither begets nor is he born. So has this world been created many times over? Or is this the only time the world was created? And if it was indeed the only time is there a mention of what Allah did before it? Like I said it kind of sounds silly but if you think abt it it is more abt the Lord himself..Perhaps no easy answer on this one.

These 2 questions were asked by an athiest and I would be grateful if you could help answering them.

    JazakAllah.

    walikum as-salam,

    2 kwik answers:

    1. Why would Allah want us to worship Him?
Allah wants us to be true.
when we recognise who Allah is we will automatically feel the desire to worship Him. neglecting the reality of who Allah is, and not recognising His Lordship is deception and causes us to live false lives.

    2. Who created Allah?
    Noone.
if Allah was created we would not worship Him. it is precisely bcos Allah is Unique, Eternal, All-Powerful etc that we submit to Him alone and worship Him as slaves.
Allah's 99 names are 99 reasons (and more) to worship Him.

[as a side note: the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us to recite "Audhubillahi minash shaytanur rajeem" (ie. seek Allah's protection from the accursed satan) whenever someone asks us shaytani questions like 'who created Allah?'....and then to re-affirm our belief by saying "laa ilaha illallah, muhammadur rasulullah".]

The above article has the answer to why mankind worship Allah Ta'ala. He is in no need of our worship and nor is our deviation capable of causing Him any harm. If He so willed, He would have produced a nation that would not sin and worship Him flawlessly.

However, it is our own benefit and achievement if we are faithful towards our creator. If we worship Him we will acquire the correct path and be saved from the path of Shaytaan; a path leading to the hell-fire.

It is the usual question of the Atheists to question as to who created Allah. Indeed everything has a creator. But this is a rule adjoined to the creation of Allah Ta'ala and He is free from all that characteristics that are adjoined with the creation. Therefore, to assume that someone created Allah is an incorrect notion and one that is used by many atheists to trap the believing men and women.
