    Waaleykum'Assalaam Wa Rehmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu!

First thing first, Bhai, I am not worthy enough to be put into the category of the Luminaries that you have mentioned. There are other Brothers and sisters on forum with incomparable ilm and Taqwa. And I am not even the dust of them. Seriously!

Now coming to what you have asked, I would simply suggest you NOT to read the book that you have made mention of. Rather I would advise you to listen to Scholarly disclosure on the very same topic if you want to expand the horizon of your knowledge.

Anyway, here is something for you. Spend your time wisely in listening to the lectures on this website:

    As-salamu alaikum,

May this reach you in the best state of health and iman. Ameen.

Firstly, its better to read something thats organized for mass consumptions rather than a matn. Maulana Khandelwi has "Aqaid ul Islam" which is written for a modern readership. There should be a copy available on the web for free.

Secondly, regarding the Aqeedah Tahawiyyah, its a very basic text, but its got a lot of rich meaning within it, such as how it is structured. Also, a lot of the material requires a certain amount of context. You should check out Maulana Qari Tayyib's commentary on the Tahawiyyah which elaborates. That is also available on the web for free somewhere.

Also, if anyone is a serious student of aqeedah, I'd strongly recommend Imam Dardir's Kharida al-Bahiyyah (http://seekersguidance.org/site/inde...=article&id=82).

Lastly, for those studying aqeedah within the modern context, the works of Sayyid Naquib al-Attas are amazing "Islam, Secularism, and the Philosophy of the Future" and "The Prolegemona to the Metaphysics of Islam."

    wassalam

Or, I would say, the very basic Ta`lim al-Islam.

Have you read "The Prolegemona to the Metaphysics of Islam"? How is it?

I second Br Jinnzaman's suggestion of Qari Tayyib sahib's commentary on Al-Aqeedah Al-Tahawiyyah. It can be purchased from:

Unfortunately I can't find a download link at the moment, but there is one around.

    As-salamu alaikum

The Prolegomena is amazing but for someone who doesn't have familiarity with the Western tradition or philosophy in general, it can be a very difficult read. Islam and Secularism is much easier, but its still a pretty challenging work.

    Assalamu alaikum,

I would strongly recommend Aqaidul Islam by Moulana Idris Kandhlawi. It is found free on the al-inaam.com website.

    As Salaam U Alaikum

Listen to this Urdu Bayaan, and I would suggest all brothers and sisters on this forum who can understand urdu to listen to this Bayaan.
You will learn what happens when one reads without the right guidence.
The Ahl e Ilm e Haqiqi have guided along the right track.
Listen to the living examples and also other examples of how without guidence or Sohbat how the Shaitan takes over and misleads.
