Whats' the Price...for Islamophobia?

A man who tore a Muslim woman's veil from her face as he passed her in the street has been ordered by a court to pay her £1,000 in compensation.

Stephen Ard, confessed in court that he was ashamed by his actions. He was drunk at the time. The Magistrates were told that his actions caused significant emotional and psychological injury to the victim: Rehana Sidat.

This man was intoxicated, but there are many cases where the attacker has no excuse except ignorance and hatred for Islam. I wonder if thats worth more than a grand?
