Why are the Sunni prayer style and Shia prayer style different?

i just want to know why the Sunni prayer style and Shia prayer style are different, and which group follows the prayer style when the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) was alive.

Dear brother please dont mind the greeting is like this Assalaamu-alaikum.

This Sect was not there in muhammed(sws) time,so the way of praying salaat how they pray I DONT KNOW....if u have seen kindly tell us....
If accordig 2 u their salaat is different from sunni(all madhabs)Its Better to ask shias why u pray like this

The simple answer is that they use different sources and to a lesser degree different methodologies when dealing with those sources. Sunni and Shia hadith differ and the Shi'a also rely upon the narrations of the Imam's which sunnis disregard and while we agree on the Qur'an, there is little detail on prayer in the Qur'an. The sunni schools also differ from each other over how to pray and there are similar differences amongst the Shi'a marja's as the hadith sources are vague or contradictory over various issues of the prayer. To me personally it seems that it is likely that the Prophet prayed in slightly differing ways at different times and from that complexity the various schools developed their own positions.
