    Default new year

    salaam

i was just watching the new years celebrations on tv they were showing all the major events in the last 10 years. scary how quick these 10 years went. felt like yesterday bush winnin presidency, 9-11, da world cups death of mufti ludhvani and mufti shamzai, saddams hussaisn hanging on eid day, the intifadah of 2000. etc etc. i think iv just learnt the value of time iv wasted to much. may Allah (swt) forgive me and put barakat in my time. i have a good feeling about the next 10 years inshallah the revivial of islaam will be in full steam. i really do think something big will happend in 2012 regarding israel

    Wa alaikum al salaam,

Indeed Time seems to fly by and we are supposed to live each day as if we could die any minute, for that is the reality of life. Living like that and thinking only about worshipping Allah is the only way we can be successful insha'allah. Allah will protect our religion and Allah will call us all to justice in the end, whether it's 2010 or whenever, we don't have to worry.... We have to also remember that 2010 is the new year for the christians and pagans etc, although we don't all say this in our say to day lives, we are in the year 1431 AH, not 2010. .... Anyway, glad to see someone else was at home NOT celebrating this entirely non-muslim event!

    Ma'a salaam.

    wasalaam

i meant 2012. i knw we as muslims dont go by there kuffar calender i was mentioning 2012 because when i was in filisteen a few of the brothers there told me about a hadith state the palestinians would suffer for 100 years. its been about 90 odd years remember that the problems started around the 1st world war and escalted in 1948. also alot of ulema have mentioned the year 2012. either way this decade i think the world would change big time i think america will crumble

insha'allah the US military hegemony on the world does crumble soon, but how will that happen? . Read "Islam the West and the challenges of modernity" by Tariq Ramadan- it's amazing coz he shows HOW we can START to resist the empire

I celebrated new year 15 days ago. lol

I don't celebrate new year in Islam or otherwise, it's just another year less on my lifespan. I have made is 17 years without death and as Nabi (saw) said, death is a mercy for us, so I await it eagerly! Yet, who want's to be joyous that they they have one year less? I'm happy that Allah has given me the time I have here and when he gives me that mercy of death, Insha Allah I will be in a state acceptable to Him for me to gain access to Jannah! Ameen!

Insha Allah I can see the rest of you there! In the meantime, who want's some BBQ Lamb, fresh off the grill?

It's amazing how many days a person will deem it totally A-okay to become drunk and stupid on.
