The Din is not a game. It is not based on what you "like". It is based on tested principles which are used to correctly derive rulings. I am sure you cannot develop your own Usul and derive the rulings yourself in your lifetime, so follow those that are. Not taking what you like, especially nonsensical Salafi sites like the one which you mentioned which declares "Sufis", i.e. people who put into practice Ihsan as "Of the words, deeds and beliefs that are unique to the Sufis and have no basis in the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), some are bid’ahs (innovations) that constitute kufr".

a madhab is a school of though or interpretation of the quran and sunnah

sunni muslims are like a madhab
and there are madhabs inside of madhabs

    for example
    jurisdictions inside of a county

we are still in the same county
but a madhab is like a jurisdiction inside

they are not all in the same area

i feel if there is water in one part of the county then it is ok to go to that part to get what is more pure
your county may not have everything you need

Now let us take the word MADDHAB مذهب.

DHAHABA ذهب means “he went”. MADDHAB مذهب has the following meanings:

    - A place to which one goes

-A way, course, mode or manner of acting or conduct or the like

-A way that one pursues in respect of doctrines and practices

-A way of believing, opining, thinking or judging

-A belief, a creed, a persuasion, a doctrine, an opinion, a tenet, a body of tenets

    -A school of thought

every one follow the madhab the only difference is that the sunni openly say we follow the madhab of any imam out of 4.but the dualface peoples such as wahabis and ahle hadith too folow there madhab but always claim there did not follow it,this is the great dualness of those people..every muslim do taqleed may be openly or closely,do not play with the words to misguide the sunni youths ..if taqleed is not allowed then why to read the books of those scholars who did taqleed such as imam bukhari, muslim, tirmidhi etc all the great imams did taqleed.when such a learned scholars did then how an ordinary muslim with out taqleed understand the real meaning of the hadith and the quran?

yes yes yes!!!! u do need a madhab. it is part of the prophets pbuh prophethood. first u have to understand where does fiqh come from. let me explain. the quran states that the prophets pbu them all have 4 obligations 1. read out the verses, 2. tazkya 3. teach knowledge 4. teach wisdom.

from the 1st obligation- read out the verses comes qirat.
from 2nd obligation tazkya comes sufism. sufism is just tazkya. so u also need to follow a silsala as well in order to have complete iman.
from the 3rd and 4th obligation- teaching knowledge and wisdom comes fiqh.

i u do not follow a silsala and and madhab u will be deprived of 3 obligations of the prophet pbuh and thus u will be at a severe loss. ur iman will be incomplete

there is nothing wrong with sufism as long as there is no innovation in their practice
so..why is their quote a problem anyway?
