Karen Armstrong's book contains some wrong ideas that may corrupt a potential Muslims ideas about Islam at the very start of things, a better substitute is 'Muhammad (saws) Man and Prophet, by Adil Salahi,

it is much better written (in an attractive journalistic style) and has the great advantage that it is written by a Muslim writer rather than a perrenialist who admires the Prophet (saws) but does not accept the majority of what he taught.
